This is where my love of science and explosions blossomed many years ago.
I present: SODIUM.

Note: This is what happens when sodium and water interact, the fire in this video was caused by an inner-tube that happened to get caught in the reaction.

This should be listed under "Ideas I wish they would have bought". Although it never came to be, I still laugh every time I think about Hot Pockets and good ol' Davy Pocket, Kind of the Flavor Frontier.

"Davy Pocket could have been a war hero on the American frontier in 1850, if only he could have found the American frontier. Instead, he’s a 19th century frontiersman who has landed in 2011, making camp behind the strip mall next to the access road along the interstate. He’s not sure why he’s here, but he knows one thing – he’s a survivor. He may not cotton to our power carriages and our fancy radio talkers. But Davy knows his Hot Pockets – “pocket
rations” when he first saw them – and he knows that, “Maybe a man can’t live on bread alone. But when that bread’s stuffed with things like tasty ham and melted cheese, he can come pretty dern close.”

My dear friend Diana, in conjunction with the genius of Photojojo, worked together to create the company Material Co. whose goal is to make the office a fun and magical place full of wonderful supplies that make you excited to go to work! I created a logo for them that captured their mission while also nodding to the turn of the century handcrafted Co. logos of old. Someone took the time to recreate it out of pencil shavings, which is beautiful! Now go visit Material Co. and bring some magic to your office situation.

Hello Kitty for Sephora
Sephora wanted a new way to get consumers and Sanrio fanatics excited about the launch of their new beauty line, Hello Kitty Beauty.

I helped create the fun Hello Kitty graphics that were used for the Hello Kitty eBay Pretty campaign, where 4 one-of-a-kind experience packages were put up for auction on eBay. Winners received products before they were available in store and tickets to launch parties across the U.S. All proceeds were donated to the Starlight Foundation.

Nau: Crosswalk Catwalk
Nau, a sustainable urban and outdoor apparel brand, wanted to educate consumers about their eco-friendly business and bring in more customers to their Bellevue, WA store. We decided to stage a "crosswalk catwalk" fashion show with natural-looking models who would strut their stuff in a crosswalk during a red light in high-traffic areas around the mall. Models also handed out tickets that could be scanned at the store for a chance to win free gear! Don't believe me? Watch the video for yourself!

Just some random goodies. These are things that I’ve made for friends, freelance, work or pleasure that don’t really have a place anywhere else with the exception of Bear Vs. Manta Ray, because let’s be honest, that’s the most epic thing you’ve seen all week. I know.

ROFLCon and LOLarts
These are two separate events, but both fall under the heading of “As Seen on the Internet.”

ROFLCon, a conference that showcases internet meme celebrities and culture IN REAL LIFE! I worked with this amazing group to help do some quick booklets, artwork and try to rope in a few sponsors. The conference was a huge success, garnered ridiculous amounts of press and is scheduled to repeat the awesome this spring.

The second set of work was for LOL Arts. It was a gallery show that featured artwork of LOL Cats. No really, I have a giant 8 foot tall canvas kitten painting hanging in my office to prove it. The art show was in collaboration with (and inspired by) I Can Has Cheezburger. I was asked to do some last minute branding, booklets and posters for the show. I can has kitteh art?

Work Featured in: Wired Magazine (online) and countless other blogs and newspapers.

Visit ROFLCon's website!

TEAM AWESOME REEL
We reuse paper and recycle our yard waste, so why not join forces to save room on the internet and make a reel together? This is just a mixed bag of motion goodies and projects that the writer, Kindra Meyer, and I have worked on over the years, couldn't help but throw it in to entice you. Enjoy.
