Windows Live: Operation Smile
Windows Live Launch: Operation Smile
The Windows Live official launch meant that all of the Windows Live products were finally living together online as one. Users could now communicate seamlessly from Hotmail, Messenger or PhotoGallery to Spaces and beyond using their Windows Live ID. Users were now more connected than ever. Windows Live needed to get this word out and wanted to do it in a big way.
We decided to partner with Operation Smile, an amazing organization who repairs cleft pallets on disadvantaged children, to create something powerful that would not only get people excited, but get them involved.
Welcome to Share a Smile. A simple concept with a powerful end result. All over the country, people took pictures and shared smiles online and in kiosks. Each picture counted as one donation toward Operation Smile. People's smiles were aggregated and projected live onto a 7-story-tall sphere located in downtown New York City. The event garnered national press coverage for Windows Live and raised nearly $5000,000 for Operation Smile.
